Corrosion of reinforcement in industrial walls exposed to harsh environments is a critical challenge to the durability of structures. These environments accelerate the deterioration of steel, compromising structural integrity and safety. The adoption of preventive and corrective solutions is essential to extend the life of the facilities.
Intervention description:
The intervention carried out by Molins Construction Solutions consists of structural consolidation using technical repair mortars, followed by the application of a highly durable projected cementitious waterproofing.
Project carried out by the company CREB with extensive experience in engineering and rehabilitation works
Reason for the intervention
This solution ensures not only the structural stability of the wall, but also its protection against water leakage and moisture, preserving its long-term integrity.
Challenges and limitations
- The support requires sanitation with high-pressure water treatment whose objective is to eliminate deteriorated, loose or contaminated parts of the concrete, leaving a clean and rough surface, ideal for receiving the prescribed materials.
- Establishing a correct diagnosis of the degree of deterioration of the reinforcement helps us to decide what is the correct procedure before passivation.
- Study the ideal product for the waterproofing layer that has the CE marking, thus ensuring that the materials used offer the necessary performance to protect concrete structures against humidity and other aggressive agents.
Molins Solutions
- Preparation of the support by high-pressure water treatment and removal of reinforcement oxide.
- Passivation by reinforcement with PROPAM® REPAR PRIM
- Concrete repair with R4 structural mortar PROPAM® REPAR TECHNO 40
- Waterproofing and protection of walls with PROPAM® IMPE FLEXITEC projection.
